Three Village Garden Club Volunteer Day is scheduled for April 16 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All those registered with the Nature Initiative are invited to participate in the planting of daffodil bulbs and the removal of invasive plants.   2. Minnesauke Elementary School students hold a fundraiser called “Operation Hope for Ukraine.” The plan is to make wristbands and sell them for $1 and donate the proceeds overseas to the Ukrainian Red Cross along with student-made friendly cards. (SDTV)
  3. The Emma Clark Memorial Library will host a virtual archeology course led by an instructor from the Suffolk County Archaeological Association. The meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday April 11 at 7 p.m. Click here to register. (ECML)
  4. Toast Coffeehouse located in Port Jefferson Village will move to a new location at Port Jefferson Station. Owner Terry Scarlatos will move the business to a larger space with more parking availability at 242 E. Main St. to 650 Route 112 at Port Jefferson Station.   5. News nearby: Shots were fired at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A man and a woman ran back inside the mall after being shot by two suspects. The incident happened on the second floor of the parking lot. Police have confirmed that no injuries have been reported, but are continuing to search for anyone involved in the shooting. (News12)
