Equipment from Alliance Structures in Scarborough is set to be auctioned, including a treatment chain potentially worth over £100,000

The company, which had offered a design-to-build steel construction service used by schools, universities and the hospitality industry, closed its factory in Hopper Hill Road three weeks ago.

The insolvency specialists responsible for winding up the business, Kingsbridge Corporate Solutions of Hull, have now asked auctioneers Eddisons CJM to sell the company’s assets in an online auction which is expected to end at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.

Eddisons CJM manager Paul Cooper said: “The company has apparently been hit by a triple whammy which began when the Covid outbreak caused delays in the delivery of their steel supplies, which reached their project completion times, then on top of everything else started to double and triple in price.

Equipment auctioned.

“We face many difficult issues for companies involved in or dependent on energy-intensive industries such as steel and plastics, as well as food processing. The auction spans 125 lots and includes good quality machinery, tools and equipment, much of it general purpose. We not only arouse the interest of buyers from this country, but also from the mainland. »

The star of the show is expected to be a line of Kaltenbach steel treatment which, even in used condition, can sell for over £100,000.

In addition to machinery and equipment from the factory, the auction will also see a number of lots of furniture and equipment from the company’s offices go under the hammer.

The auction viewing session will take place on Tuesday 22 March at the Alliance Structures site at Chatsworth Court, Hopper Hill Road, Scarborough (9.30am-3.30pm).
