WILLISTON, Fla. (WCJB) – At the 7th annual Garden Show and Spring Festival, a variety of flowers were on display. This year had the most sellers of all previous years.
“Nearly 100 vendors this year, this is our biggest site, but we have craft vendors, food vendors and tons of plant vendors,” said employee Teresa Mankin.
From unique pots to jewelry and of course plants, people looking for the perfect gift for themselves and also for their moms for Mother’s Day.
Seller, Charles Terhaar demonstrated how his Kool-Pots work.
“They’re made of epoxy and river rock and their solid rock so the water goes straight through and they won’t fade because they’re river rock.”
In addition to purchasing plants, visitors were able to take photos and walk through one of Williston’s hidden gems, Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens.
Dane Myers said he remembers when botanical gardens were just a pile of rocks.
“The shows are getting bigger and the gardens are getting more and more spectacular. I saw it many years ago when it was an abandoned rock quarry and it was appalling and now it is beautiful.
Next year the festival plans to add even more vendors so there will be a wider selection of plants to choose from.
