Wacker Neuson expands in Serbia

The Wacker Neuson Group is building a new steel component production facility at its Kragujevac site in Serbia to boost the group’s growth plans and make its internal supply chain more resilient.

The project officially started at an inauguration ceremony at the end of February. The Group plans to expand its activities and create many new job opportunities in Serbia, investing around 23 million euros in 2022, followed by additional investments for the following construction phases. Equipped with state-of-the-art production and automation technologies, the first phase of construction of the new factory is expected to start in October 2022 with an area of ​​20,000 square meters and an option to expand by another 30,000 square meters. .

Felix Bietenbeck, COO and CTO of the Executive Board of the Wacker Neuson Group, said at the inauguration ceremony: “As a major supplier of steel components, our site in Kragujevac is part of the success story of the Wacker Neuson Group. for many years now. Due to our strong growth in recent years, our existing capabilities have long been stretched to their limits. That’s why we decided to build a new production site and thus strengthen our presence in Serbia. With this new manufacturing plant, we will not only be able to respond more efficiently to the demands of the global market, but also create new jobs while taking advantage of cutting-edge production and automation technologies.

The Wacker Neuson Group plant in Serbia has been manufacturing steel components for 15 years. These are used for the assembly of construction equipment at the Group’s production sites in Germany and Austria. Wacker Neuson Kragujevac currently employs around 600 people and operates from rented premises.
