Farm equipment editors come across a variety of articles, social media posts, podcasts and videos that offer a unique look at various aspects of our formidable agricultural machinery industry. Here’s our favorite content from the last week on the web:

The best of the web this week is brought to you by CLEANFIX.

Proven in the most demanding agricultural conditions, CLEANFIX reversing fans provide the most efficient diesel engine cooling and radiator cleaning available. Multi-patented reversible fan technology keeps the machine cool as needed and, when needed, provides the strongest dust and debris evacuation, without interrupting or slowing down operations.

Detailed overview of the Bazooka Farmstar extension

We love factory tours, but we’re often asked to keep our camera bags closed for ‘exclusive reasons’. Articles that dive deep into agricultural OEMs are hard to come by, so we were thrilled to see a specialist agricultural equipment manufacturer get their due for excellence in manufacturing-related B2B media. This article provides an unusually detailed review of Bazooka Farmstar’s operations – from a manufacturing perspective. Below is its new addition of 37,000 square feet.

Who needs the Oscars anyway? Let’s talk about agricultural machinery on the big screen

This timeless and entertaining interview by Machinery Pete features concession equipment dealer Aaron Fintel and his scholarly recall of farm machinery in major movie scenes. If you’re having trouble remembering which tractor Renn McCormick (Kevin Bacon) “operated” in Free from all ties, Aaron has you covered. You’ll also choose new picks for your weekend watchlist.

If modernizing facilities were that simple

Our newest Farm equipment edition was our annual “Dealer Modernization and Expansion” issue, which included in-depth reviews of 2 recently completed facilities. And then we saw this mock design video design – with a Platte Valley Equipment sign on the building… We wonder if the iterative facility design process is so quick or so fun. Constructive criticism: 1) you went too small on the store – you’ll want to add more in a few months. 2) Your John Deere TM will blame you for ignoring dealership standards. 3) And there is WAY too much landscaping to do. There’s a labor shortage, don’t you know?

‘Make Ink’ – Brand Loyalty 2.0

John Deere The groove The magazine provides a farm manager’s answer to the state of brand loyalty in this story about a very personal connection (and obsession) with Deere. It took 74 hours on the chair for 2 years to complete this personal ode to Big Green, which features an articulated tractor to conceal the “stupid” Motley Crue he got when he was 18.

Just-In-Time Drone Deliveries – They’re Heeeere

Watch this quick video on autonomous drones that can deliver payloads up to 500 pounds and ranges up to 399 miles. Wouldn’t it be great to receive shipments from your OEM’s parts depot to your store this way? It could happen to you, especially if OEMs want to slow talk of how additive manufacturing (3D printing) could eat away at their cash cow parts business. And not to rush, but think of the day when you can deliver parts by drone to that customer’s farm 100 miles away for same day service…
