Center told the state government that there was an abundant production of fertilizer

“There is abundant fertilizer production and no shortage across the country,” Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told all state agriculture ministers here on Tuesday, while reviewing the availability of fertilizers across the country.

He said there had been transparent coordination between the Union’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers and states as a result of collective efforts and appreciated the efforts of state agriculture ministers to respond to their fertilizer needs when demand for DAP had increased in many states.

The fertilizer dashboard which has been operational for about two months and the control room which operated 24/7 for effective coordination between states and the Center to ensure adequate availability of fertilizers in various districts, has declared the minister.

He further urged states to monitor the needs on the “Fertilizer Dashboard” on a daily basis for more efficient and productive fertilizer management.

“It is important to plan ahead and assess the district’s wisdom needs each week. There is a sufficient amount of unused fertilizer and fertilizer in various districts, ”the minister told ministers of state.

“Regular daily monitoring will inform us upstream for better management. The Center provided fertilizer to the States without any delay based on the needs indicated by them, ”he said.

He said the Center is committed to meeting the fertilizer subsidy and working tirelessly to meet the country’s urea needs during the coming Rabi season.

“Let’s also explore options and promote the use of alternative fertilizers such as nanourea and organic fertilizers that protect the soil and are more productive; a lesser amount of nanourea will be used, unlike the amount currently used, and will contribute to greater efficiency in the use of nutrients, ”said the Minister during his interaction with the State Minister of Agriculture.

Nanofertilizer shows great promise for application in plant nutrition due to its size dependent qualities, high surface area to volume ratio and unique properties. “IFFCO has started the production of nano urea and work on the nano DAP is in progress,” added the Union Minister.
