Slovakia will repair and modernize Ukraine’s military equipment, says Slovak Defense Minister

The defense minister added that it was part of a commercial contract based on Ukraine’s requirements.

However, he did not specify which military equipment fell under the contract.

“We have prepared things so far to repair and modernize several dozen vehicles for Ukraine, but I won’t give more details,” Nad’ said.

According to Deutsche Welle’s Ukrainian service, Konstrukta’s director of defense Alexander Gurský told reporters that the plant mainly specializes in the manufacture, repair and maintenance of artillery and missile systems. The Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzer is the company’s best-known product.

On June 2, Ukraine and the Slovak Republic signed a contract with Slovakia for the supply of eight Slovak-made 155 mm Zuzana 2 howitzers to the Ukrainian army. At the end of May, Nad’ confirmed that Bratislava would transfer eight self-propelled howitzers to Kyiv.
