Thousands of Dollars in Equipment Stolen From Living Room Walnut Creek Plant Store

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) – The owners of a small salon and plant store in Walnut Creek are trying to do what they can to help their stylists after thousands of dollars worth of their equipment was stolen. It happened early Wednesday morning at “Fringe and Fern” on South Main Street.

The owners believe it was not a random crime.

The owners told KRON4 they didn’t know who the people on the surveillance video were, but they believe they spotted the place. The owners said the suspects knew exactly where all the expensive equipment was placed and where some of the cameras were.

“Having someone walk into your space is an incredibly violent feeling. You just feel disgusting to the core,” owner Shelbie Jackson said.

They say they thought it was safe to leave their business behind. Now they’ve lost thousands of dollars worth of equipment, including clippers, sheers, and all the hair dryers.

“All of our stylists and barbers have been doing hairstyling for over a decade, so they’ve accumulated some really good quality products,” Shelbie said.

But Blaine Jackson said the styling community came to help them get back on their feet.

They are now able to operate the salon again thanks to the support. They even launched a fundraiser to help the stylist.

“So many clients and customers (direct messaging) us, some people just randomly send me Venmo to donate to their stylist and shop,” Shelbie said.

The owners said they are very grateful for all the support and feel very loved by the community.
