Watters Garden Center Resumption of classes in June


A free Garden lessons is offered every Saturday in June at 9:30 a.m. at Watters Garden Center, 1815 Iron Springs Rd in Prescott.

June 11 at 9:30 a.m. The Doctor is at Home – How to Cure Sick Plants -As we enter summer, the heat, insects and disease are taking their toll on the gardens. Frustrated gardens will get insight into proper water, grasshopper control, and optimizing your vegetable gardens. Frustrated gardeners will have all the tools they need to keep the garden pest free! You can have a great yard with these easy-to-use tips and a few key plant choices.

June 18 @ 9:30 a.m. – Perennials that thrive in summer heat – June is the perfect month to plant perennials in gardens. Students learn to design seasonally for continuous 4-season bloom in the garden. Notable mentions will be the native, heat-loving flowers that bloom without any care. All local and all free.

June 25 at 9:30 a.m. – The best mountain fruit trees and how to plant them – Have your landscape and eat it too! We’ll share the tips, tricks and recipes that lead to a better, healthier and tastier landscape. Plant experts will be on hand after the course specializing in fruit designs that can be eaten after planting.
